This year, five CiSoft sponsored graduate students: Daoyuan Zhai, Minshen Hao, Jing Zhao, Yenting Lin, and Harris Chelmis attended the SPE Western Regional Meeting in Bakersfield, California to present technical papers on their research accomplishments.

The SPE North America Western Regional Meeting is an annual gathering of prominent members in the petroleum industry and academia. Hosted by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), this year’s meeting focused on the newest and most innovative research about thermal and non-thermal regional operations, smart fields, and artificial intelligence. The theme was “Something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue: Thigh shales, 100 year operations, smart fields, and the Pacific Ocean.”

A total of 500 technical professionals and 200 exhibitors attended the 2012 SPE Western Regional Meeting.
